Description

Just my preference.....
The mortality drawing screen on the bottom is a little hard to get used to, as it moves while you are drawing. Is there any way to fix the axis- perhaps this is just something I need to get used to using.

Change History

SL: Carrie, the movement in the mortality graph you are talking about is a way to change the axis. Is it too uncomfortable to use? Try left click and move the mouse vertically. Would you like us to tweak it or get rid of the functionality all together? If the later, how would you want to modify the axis.

Ok I am getting more used to it now. Is there a way to lock the axis? I do love how the f= button works in this version (it doesnt in version 5) :-)

Hi Sherman- ok this is opened again. . .

When playing around with the drawing screen, I set the F values of a fishing fleet to 3, which works, but the screen (drawing box) still only shows up to 2. I think the y-axis should automatically re-scale itself to show in this case 3.5 or 4x (so that 3 is not the limit, and the whole box is not shaded red)- this is a visual preference for me. I like to see that the value is actually where I just set it to be.

Hopefully this is not unreasonable

OK me again. I jumped the gun on sending the last message without being finished. I think it is okay if the axis does not re-scale itself, but I think that would be more important than the moving function while you are drawing. Usually the user knows what they want the scale to be before they start drawing in mortalities or fleet effort. It is totally the programmers call, I would just prefer to have it all automatic, or all rescaled manually.

Jeroen, I don't think it should be too hard to fix. I think it's a design issue where the scale is not reset after values are set.

The sketchpad now rescales whenever a shape is remotely modified or after a draw operation
