EwE6 does not detect whether a database is read-only

Description

I have an old model that an intern worked with me this summer to create. I think she created it using some version of EwE 6.06. Anyway, I have tried to read this model into the current daily build, and I get one dialog box after another with the the following error messages:

"Database update 6.06002 failed"

"Model failsd to update to the latest version!"

"Cannot open file 'D:\Condensed_Chesapeake_bay_model.ewemdb'"

Turned out that the database was read-only. I have changed the ticket title to reflect this.
