User feedback messages system only works when status panel is visible

Description

When the status panel is hidden any message that derives from the core is automatically answered without alerting the user. When the status panel is shown old messages are not visible.

Not an issue: a flaw within a flaw prevented the status panel from destroying, thus keeping the user message feedback system active.

Fixed both issues properly now. This also solved a minor issue where status panel messages would retain links to core data, hence creating minor memory leaks
