Your model may not have pedigree definitions, which happens in the Menu > Edit Pedigree... interface. I will add an [Edit Pedigree...] button to the main Pedigree interface to help users work with this interface.

Replying to maciejt:
Jeroen: Maciej, I will need a bit more information please
I'm not able to edit Pedigree levels (model crash)

Would you be able to tell me when the crash occurs? For instance, when you open [Edit Pedigree...] from the menu, when you add a new level, when you edit a new level, when you edit an existing level, when you delete a level, or when you apply a range of changes? Thanks!

- Type changed from not assessed to assessed
Pedigree defaults are not created. The interface does not complain. This happens on some Windows 7 machines, presume database related.

- Summary changed from Pedigree does not work to New pedigree levels do not stick

- Status changed from new to closed
- Resolution set to fixed
For a while databases were set to reject empty pedigree level descriptions. This has been fixed, but some databases updated by daily builds (eek) unfortunately may still contain this limitation. Added a work-around.
