Status bar-cannot read last line automatically

When trying to read messages in the status bar, I have to re-size everytime so that I can read the last line. I am not sure if this is only my computer, but if I pin the bar open, and then increase the size a little, I can then read the last line, but I have to do this everytime.

After bashing my head onto this bug, I have very strong suspicions that this is a .NET issue beyond our control. The bug seems only replicable on specific machines, and the logic used to populate the box does not warrant the behaviour in the bug description. There is simply no code involved that could cause this behaviour.

I am still searching the Microsoft knowledge bases to see if anyone else has experienced this issue.
