Apply Egg production- set all to production # does not work

Reported by: carieh Owned by: administrator
Priority: normal Milestone: Ecopath 6: build 6.0.7
Component: Database / Import Version:
Severity: minor Keywords:

Description

As of now I can only enter a 0 (because there is only one shape i can apply at the moment) but even if I click 0 in the cell, it does not apply to the stanza group.
(this is lab 4 model fish 500)

Also, this is not intuitive to the user how to set this value. I would assume you click enter to set the values. If this is not the case then there needs to be a set button for users. Otherwise I have no idea how to set this value.

Set all egg production button is not working properly:
Using the Tampa Bay model version 6.0.3.4
-open Tampa bay model
-create a few egg production shapes
-apply egg production
-Assign all to shape 1
-run ecosim
-open apply egg production shape
-now all will be assigned to 2
If you assign all to 2 then the next time they will be assigned to 3.

Yep, totally true. This bug happily exists in build 6.0.3.4.

Reworked after build 6.0.3.4

version 6.0.3.7
ok I am a bit lost here. If I open a model and click on the egg production shape on the top of the toolbar, it does not change all of the multi-stanza groups at once. Actually it does not change any of them unless the cell is already highlighted. So I am unsure what the purpose of this button is at the moment.

Also the assigning of individual groups is not 100% secure. If I alter the third group to a shape, the first two groups' assignments dissappear. If I go back anf forth a few times, it does work and then stick. I can re-log as a seperate bug if necessary

There was a bug here that occurred only on the very first shape. A silly test went wrong, regarding the first shape (with position 0 in the shape list) as a 'no shape selected' value. Solved in next official release after 6.0.3.7 (not in the build that you got from Sherman on 26Jan08, Carie)

Ok once you apply to a group it does stick, and doesnt seem to change at all. However, The Egg production shape in the top toolbar under apply egg production only works if you have the cell for the group selected. At that point you might as well use the drop-down menu for each individual group.

Also the drop-down menu for assigning all groups does not indicate it is for ALL groups. I believe it should work without having to select the cells you want to change. Ok that is my 2 cents....

Ps.. version 6.0.3.11

After 6.0.3.11:

I've made a few minor tweaks to make this toolbar apply option a little more intuitive.

  • The label is now called 'Set:', similar to the QuickEdit? bar in other grid forms
  • I've added a [ -> ] button
  • The controls are enabled only when one or more egg shape cells are selected in the grid

Carie, if the behaviour tests fine please close this one. It works identical to the Set toolbar on the main forms.
