Cannot enter pedigree values outsude pre-defined classifications

At first I thought that I could not paste values into the Pedigree grid. Then I realized that the pedigree grid only accepts values that have been pre-defined as pedigree levels (e.g., with a fixed color, index value, and confidence interval).

I think it should allow users to enter any confidence interval or index value. Perhaps the 'classifications' box should highlight the two classifications that are just above and below the entered value?

This is a conceptual issue. Internally, pedigree is assigned to variables by a pre-defined pedigree level (linked to a level DBID). If a level's confidence value is changed, automatically all assignments to this level inherit the change. If a level is deleted, all assignments go as well. This is by design, but is perhaps not right.

Perhaps Pedigree levels should only be used to conveniently assign confidence values. Once an assignment is in place, deleting or changing the level should not affect the assignment. This will open the way to enter any confidence interval. The Pedigree interface will have to be updated to deal with assignments that fall in between pre-defined levels, but that should not be too difficult
