Retain land when sketching excluded cells

Description

We would like to be able to exclude some cells from an Ecospace map but still retain the land cells for reference. Would it be possible to alter the interface so that is skips the land cells when sketching the excluded cells?

The excluded cells are now sketched with a 50% transparent background color. This allows the land to 'shine through'.
