EwEugPredictionOfMixingRates
v1 v2 1 1 == 4.4 Prediction of mixing rates == 2 2 3 The instantaneous emigration rates from a given cell in Ecospace are assumed to vary based on the pool type, the groups preference for the habitat type represented by the cell, and a ‘risk ratio’representing how the organisms in the cell respond to predation risk. Base dispersal rates are calculated based on this, but weighted based on a habitat gradient function increasing the probability of organisms moving towards favourable habitats. The mechanisms involved in this procedure are explained in more detail by Walters et al. (1999).3 The instantaneous emigration rates from a given cell in Ecospace are assumed to vary based on the pool type, the groups preference for the habitat type represented by the cell, and a 'risk ratio' representing how the organisms in the cell respond to predation risk.
