Description

So this is more of a functionality, but I am unable to copy/cut the values form anywhere in EwE, which I find a problem. I cannot highlight values either, basically if I want to save any information, I have to print screen and save as a picture. Is there potential for this functionality in the future?

SL: Jeroen, would require, 1) Multiple highlight, 2) All highlight, 3) Copy highlighted cell(s) 4) Paste from excel. I think you know this :)

In order to allow copy/paste on grids, grids should allow multiple selections. Right now, most grids are set to select a single cell only, with a few grids allowing row selections.

Changing the selection mode will have most profound effects on the grids that allow edit operations. This will need some serious testing before we can safely enable multiple selections on all grids.

Multiple selections may introduce new benefits. For instance, the remarks panel could accept multiple selected items and allow setting/clearing of remarks on a range of values.

We need to discuss this.

Affirmative SIR!

  • Multiple/all highlight implemented by Fang, excellent work
  • Copy highlighted cells available via Ctrl+C, context menu
  • Paste from excel via Ctrl+P, context menu

NOTE THAT READ-ONLY CELLS CANNOT BE PASTED INTO, NOT CAN THEIR CONTENT BE DELETED

July 27- I am not sure if it was decided that we will NOT be allowed to paste values in or not, but i still cannot paste correctly in the basic input screen. If I select a whole row from excel or version 5 to paste into version 6 (say as biomass values for all groups- b/c I am lazy and do not want to type them all) I can only get the first one pasted in. If I try to paste a whole row in all of the values go into one cell. If you tell me this is how its going to be then I will stop bugging you about it :-)

We should be able to paste. Yes, at the moment it does not seem to work at all...

Fixed in build 6.0.0.16

Note that Paste will only change values in a selected range (note for documentation!)
